This document is a general template for UNCLE GROUP and does not constitute legal advice; it should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before it is relied upon.
Introduction
UNCLE GROUP ("we", "us", "our") operates the eSIM store at www.unclegroup.io. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you browse the site, create an account, or buy an eSIM data plan, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it.
By using the site you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.
Information we collect
- Account information: the email address and display name you provide when you register or place an order.
- Order and payment records: the plans you buy, order numbers, amounts, currency and payment status. Card and other payment-instrument details are entered directly with our payment provider and processed by them — we do not see or store your full card number.
- eSIM and usage identifiers: the identifiers needed to provision and deliver your eSIM (such as ICCID and activation details) and basic information about plan validity and status.
- Technical and cookie data: information your browser sends automatically (IP address, device and browser type) and information stored through cookies and similar technologies.
- Communications: messages you send us through contact forms or by email.
How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and to authenticate you when you sign in.
- To process orders, take payment, and deliver and activate your eSIM.
- To provide customer support and respond to your enquiries.
- To send service messages about your orders and account, such as order confirmations and delivery of eSIM details.
- To operate, secure and improve the site, and to detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To comply with our legal, accounting and tax obligations.
Legal bases for processing
Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract, to provide the account and eSIM you request; our legitimate interests, to secure and improve the service and prevent fraud; your consent, for non-essential cookies and any optional marketing; and compliance with a legal obligation, for accounting and tax records.
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that process it on our behalf under contract, and only as needed to provide the service:
- Payment provider: Allinpay (通联) processes your payment and related transaction data.
- eSIM supplier: our connectivity supplier receives the information needed to provision and activate your eSIM.
- Email and communications provider: to deliver transactional emails and your eSIM details.
Cookies and consent
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to run the site — for example to keep you signed in and to remember your consent choice — and, only with your consent, cookies that help us understand how the site is used. You can accept or reject non-essential cookies when you first visit, and you can change your choice at any time.
Data retention
We keep account and order records for as long as your account is active and for as long afterwards as we need them to meet legal, accounting, tax and dispute-resolution obligations. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data erased, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to receive your data in a portable format. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
International transfers
We and our service providers may process your data in countries other than the one you live in, including outside the EEA. Where we do, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect your information.
Security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and keeping payment-instrument details with our payment provider rather than on our own systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to any incident.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date above. Where changes are material, we may also notify you by email or through the site.
